About Yard

Yard began while I was planning a quilt for my niece. I kept redrawing layouts, moving blocks around, changing colours, and starting over. I wanted a way to see the whole quilt before I cut into fabric. I couldn’t find it, so I started building it myself.

I grew up with a seamstress for a mum, so fabric and pattern have always been part of my world. Quilting is exacting in how it’s made, but open in how it’s designed. I wanted a space that held both.

It works like digital graph paper for quilts, but built for experimentation. Layouts can shift. Colours can change. Ideas can evolve before anything is cut.
